Deep Ecology, Eco-feminism in The Lemon Tree

The film takes us much beyond the common perspective of Israel-Palestine problem as a Regional-cum-ethical conflict to a ecological conflict/perspective. Norwegian philosopher Arne Naes " deep Ecology " is Earth-centric than Anthropocentric .The Israeli defense minister, Israel Navon represents more of a human centered ecological view ,in contract to that of the heroin. She has a ecofeministic approach. She questions and addresses the "dynamics of social domination within the context of patriarchy" Fritjof Capra.
The need to 'greening the self' as Joanna Macy puts it becomes a key issue in the film.
